SECURE OPERATING PLAN v.2.1 –
RECREATIONAL MATCHES
The aim of this
plan is to reduce the risk of
transmission of Covid-19 at recreational cricket matches played at Castle Hill’s
ground. This plan is based on a risk assessment that recognises that Covid-19 is a hazard, it identifies risk
points and puts in place controls to mitigate the risk. The attached Risk Assessment forms part of
this operating plan. In formulating the plan the committee has considered
relevant legislation and guidance issued by the Government, PHE and the ECB.
1.
CHCC has appointed a lead
Covid-19 officer (Nick Donald) and a Covid-19 match monitor (“match monitor”)
will be appointed for each match. The match monitor is responsible for
familiarisation with the operating plan and providing guidance to participants
(players / officials, members, visitors) on match day.
2.
Participants will be asked to
self-screen and to not visit the ground if they are displaying any Covid-19
symptoms.
3.
Government social distance
guidance must be adhered to at all times
4.
Opposition teams will be sent,
in advance, a notification of procedures put in place to ensure they can safely
play cricket at the ground. The opposition captain will also be asked to confirm that he/she
will be able to provide, on request, names and contact details of the
opposition team to aid test and trace
5.
The match monitor will keep
contact details for the home team
6.
Entry from the car park to the
ground will require participants to sanitise their hands. On exiting the ground
hands should also be sanitised.
7.
The clubhouse will be cleaned before and after every match
8.
Appropriate signage will be in
place in respect of hand hygiene and moving around the ground and its facilities
9.
Appropriate hand
sanitisation/washing and disposing facilities will be available within the
ground at a number of points, including male and female toilets
10. Participants (other than those pre-nominated) will NOT be able to
access the club house
11. Participants will NOT be able
to use the changing rooms save for access to the male toilets. A separate
female toilet is available. Toilets will be cleaned immediately before and
after every match.
12. Participants will arrive changed or will change in their vehicle.
Kit should remain in the vehicle until required. Sharing of equipment should be
avoided.
13. Participants are advised to BRING YOUR OWN WATER & HAND
SANITISER where possible
14. NO seating will be provided, participants should bring their own
seating
15. NO food will be available on
the premises. There will be no “cricket tea.” Please bring your own food
16. Refreshments, including Beer, WILL BE available AFTER the game.
Service will comply with hospitality legislation/guidance. Ordering and consumption
will take place outside only. Payment must be made by contactless device. No
cash will be accepted.
17. Appropriate arrangements will be
in place to limit the number of participants scoring, operating the
scoreboard, moving sightscreens and arranging the boundary flags.
18. If you develop symptoms following the match please report via the
NHS test and trace system
19. Controls in place for playing
cricket

No sweat or saliva is to be
applied to the ball at any time

No spitting or rinsing out of
mouths is allowed
·
Social distancing of 2m, or 1m + for wicket keeper standing up and between slips
·
Where possible marking of
running lines at 2m intervals on either side of the wicket
·
A ‘hygiene’ break every 6 overs
in which the ball is sanitised (fielding captains responsibility) and
participants clean hands
·
Batters and wicket keeper to
sanitise gloves when leaving the field
·
Bowlers to leave jumpers, hats
on boundary
·
OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING AT
FALL OF WICKET and DURING TACTICAL DISCUSSIONS
·
Ball returned from wicket keeper
to bowler where possible
·
Umpires should not touch
the ball
·
Umpire only to replace bails

1 – RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHCC PLAYERS FOR
MATCH DAYS
Each match requires the following to be
nominated

APPENDIX
2 – SET-UP AND SIGNAGE REQUIRED FOR MATCH DAYS
1.
Clubhouse to be cleaned before game
- check First Aid
- ensure supply of face masks and disposable gloves behind bar
- ensure glasswear has been washed if not put on dishwasher
2.
Toilets to be cleaned before
game – hand sanitiser, paper towels table and pedal bin to be in each toilet (2)
3.
Table at entrance gate (by
changing rooms) with hand sanitizer and notice saying “Please sanitise hands
before entry and on exit”
4.
Social distancing signs at
entrance and outside buildings
5.
Changing room doors to be
opened.
6.
Entrance sign to male
toilet next to away changing room door, internal
direction sign to exit
7.
No Entry sign next to home changing room door.
8.
Notice next to clubhouse
doors – NO ENTRY, AUTHORISED PERSONNEL ONLY

2 tables and 2 chairs for

In advance of your match with Castle Hill
we wanted to make you aware of the actions we have taken to reduce the risk of
transmission of Covid-19 on match day. We have in place a Covid-19 Secure
Operating Plan based on a risk assessment we have undertaken.
By playing at Castle Hill you are opting to
participate in cricket activity and you acknowledge that in doing so you are
increasing the transmission risk, notwithstanding social distancing measures.
We ask that you circulate this note to your
team so they can know what to expect. We also expect you to comply with the
provisions of this plan and with legislation and guidance laid out by the
Government, Public Health England and the ECB. We thank you in advance for your
understanding and observance and look forward to welcoming you to Castle Hill.

or change in your vehicle. Kit should
remain in the vehicle until required. In the event of poor weather we advise
returning to your vehicle to shelter.
12. YOU ARE ADVISED TO BRING YOUR OWN WATER and HAND SANITISER
13. NO seating will be provided, you should bring your own seating, picnic rugs etc
14. NO food will be available on
the premises. There will be no “cricket tea.” Please bring your own food
